The Circus Guide Agency PresentsFemale acrobatic trio mimbre fuses world-class acrobatics with theatre and dance, using a unique physical language to tell stories and create imagery. The shows transform non-conventional arts settings to stages - an unexpected place for an audience to get lost in a world of humour, energy and visual poetry. Mimbre was formed in 1999 when Emma Norin, Lina Johansson and Silvia Fratelli graduated from Circus Space. The acrobats challenged the circus stereotype of big base throwing little flyer in the air, instead achieving high technical standard through clever techniques and hard training. The company has toured their shows extensively over 4 continents and have amazed thousands of audience members across the world with their strength, agility, grace and skill! As well as their touring shows the company provides acrobatic acts for cabaret and galas as well as taking part in other company's productions. Company members: Emma Norin. After taking up juggling whilst travelling in Australia, Emma decided to extend her gap year indefinitely. Training at Norrkopings Youth Circus, she took up acrobatics at the tender age of 20 and was instantly smitten by the balancing work. She left Sweden for Circus Space in London, and founded the company there with the other two members. Silvia Fratelli. A gymnast since her childhood on the seaside in Tuscany, Silvia was meant to study languages but took a short break to live in London and improve her English. Twelve years later she is still here, a stunning acrobat, fluent in four languages and walking all over her colleagues, literally. Lina Johansson. Lina began training as an acrobat after years of competing in athletics and boxing in her home town, Malmo, in Sweden. After moving to London, training at Circus Space, learning Capoiera in Brazil and training in Cuba, she has started a family and her sparkly daughter Tuva is following in her footsteps with alarming enthusiasm.
