Blind Love - Aerial Silks

'Blind Love' is a deeply romantic story set to heart-breakingly dramatic music in which love is portrayed as both passionate and tragic. Enormous physical strength and endurance are required to perform the complicated gymnastic elements, as well as dramatic skill to bring across the fire and passion to audiences. The black tissue closes the eyes of the lovers and becomes the symbol of blindness –Love needs no eyes.

'Blind Love' is an act built on contrasts – the lyrical beginning changes, becoming more tempestuous and temperamental. The second half of the performance moves through a powerful culmination of of emotions, pain and despair, approaching the finale which brings tranquility and relief.

Oleg Pospelov (born 1979) graduated from the Kiev National University of Theatre and Cinema Arts, 2001 and the Kiev State College of Circus & Variety Arts, 2003. Julia Pospelova (born 1985) graduated from the Kiev State College of Circus & Variety Arts, 2005. Both graduatied as aerial gymnasts.
Julia and Oleg became acquainted in 2001 during their studies at circus college. In 2002 they began to perform in circus groups touring all over Ukraine with solo acts on straps, aerial hoop and contortion. They began training together on aerial tissues in November 2002 and gave their first public performance of the 'Blind Love' in April 2003 in Kiev, one month after their marriage.
